I have been doing some dreaming lately. Mainly because it is so cold outside I try to think of warmer places, and because my classes have been cancelled so much these days. As I think about moving to a new city and settling in to our new home, the future seems so bright. I cannot wait to see how I grow as an artist and where photography takes me. Here are a few things on my photography “bucket list” that I cannot wait to make happen: shoot a barn reception, shoot a snowy engagement, snap some in-home newborn photos, capture an anniversary shoot for a couple that has been in love for years, photograph a ceremony under an oak tree, shoot a sailing engagement session, shoot a portrait session with a hot air balloon, snap some family portraits on a foggy morning, and capture a surprise proposal. Some of these dreams are already in the works for this year, but if you can help any of my dreams come true, let me know. I would love to work with you! Ash, I will miss you a ton, but I can’t wait to hear about your incredible adventures.
Two years ago I made the best decision of my life. I married my best friend who continues to support and love me more every day. Our wedding day was incredible, and we are grateful for the friends and family that celebrated with us. Everyone says that marriage is hard work, but I would disagree. I think it is mostly beautiful and fun, full of laughter. My husband reminds me daily of God’s grace, and I am so thankful to have found him years before I was planning. This anniversary is special as we move into the next chapter of our lives. This is the last year we will be celebrating in Cincinnati, the last year we are free from the responsibilities of growing up. So while we still can, we are enjoying this day a little slowly. Sleeping in, stopping by Starbucks for our favorite fall drink, making a special breakfast, and soaking up this crisp morning.
Todd, I love you so much more after only two years. I can only imagine how amazing the next fifty will be. “I do” every single day.
I am so thankful for these beautiful photos that I still look through often. Darlene, you are the best!
It’s spring, and nothing feels better than enjoying it at my parent’s home. They have a nice piece of land in the country, where you can see thousands of stars at night, and little blossoms are popping up everywhere. There is just something magical about going home and finding rest. Our church recently started a series on rhythms in our daily lives. So often, we get caught up in constantly working that we never take the time to refuel in Christ. This past weekend was the perfect way to truly enjoy some relaxation and enjoy God’s creation.
