Two years ago I made the best decision of my life. I married my best friend who continues to support and love me more every day. Our wedding day was incredible, and we are grateful for the friends and family that celebrated with us. Everyone says that marriage is hard work, but I would disagree. I think it is mostly beautiful and fun, full of laughter. My husband reminds me daily of God’s grace, and I am so thankful to have found him years before I was planning. This anniversary is special as we move into the next chapter of our lives. This is the last year we will be celebrating in Cincinnati, the last year we are free from the responsibilities of growing up. So while we still can, we are enjoying this day a little slowly. Sleeping in, stopping by Starbucks for our favorite fall drink, making a special breakfast, and soaking up this crisp morning.
Todd, I love you so much more after only two years. I can only imagine how amazing the next fifty will be. “I do” every single day.
I am so thankful for these beautiful photos that I still look through often. Darlene, you are the best!
600 days of [fireworks, stomach full of butterflies, beautiful mornings, homemade meals, long walks together, lots of cuddles, is this really my amazing life,] incredible marriage to my best friend. This is the perfect week to celebrate. No classes or work. Smack dab in between our birthdays. And gorgeous weather. Thank you T, for making me fall in love with you more each day. I do, again and again.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of watching these two. I’ll admit, their barking in the middle of the night was not ideal, but getting knocked down when you come home because they are so darn happy to see you makes it all worth it. Kaiser, the handsome one on the right, belongs to my in-laws. He weighs more than me but is just a giant teddy bear. Breeze, the cutie on the left, is ours. She doesn’t live with us now (boo on apartments that won’t allow cute puppies), but we can’t wait to bring her with us when we get our own place someday.
There is something about dogs that wipes away every stressful event of the day. They don’t care if you’re perfect, or whether you checked everything off your to-do list. They just pour out their love, sometimes in the form of slobbery kisses, every single day. I think there is much we can learn from these furry friends. Run hard. Always make time for play. And cuddle like it’s the last chance you’ll get. Life is short. And I think it should be spent with big dogs by your side.
We might have treated them with ice cream…twice. If we spoil our dogs this much, I can only imagine how bad it will get when we have kids. They are just so adorable!

We are taking some time to soak up this beautiful weather and fresh food in the kitchen. Classes are coming to a close and summer break is about to begin. Why not kick it off with homemade pizza? And it always, and I mean ALWAYS, tastes better when eaten with someone you love. So roll up your sleeves, roll out some dough, and top with your favorites.
So this happened a while ago (as in last November), but somehow these images got lost on my computer. Don’t worry, they have been found! I had heard about Balluminaria for a few years, but had never had a chance to go until 2012. Although it was chilly and not much was happening while the sun was up, the magic happened after sunset. I have always loved hot air balloons, and seeing so many of them lit up together was beautiful! If you are in the Cincinnati area this fall, I would highly recommend checking them out. Get there early to find a good parking spot and a seat. It is definitely worth the wait! You should also bring a blanket, some hot chocolate, and a cute husband to snuggle up with. Just from personal experience :).
